Design To Go Case Study – Spanish Revival

Spanish revival meets modern comforts. When we say this family needed function, we mean it. They got to the point in their home where they needed to decide whether to move and size up, or invest and utilize the space they had. The home overall is full of character, beautiful arches, and is in a great neighborhood so it’s clear why they chose to stay!

The before:

A great home with beautiful bones just needed to be brought back to it’s roots. The biggest complaint for these clients was a lack of storage and not enough space but they were open to moving and removing walls, so we made it happen. If you spin around from the view in the first photo, you’re in the middle of a galley kitchen without a lot of storage.

The Wishlist:

Banquette for dining

Jewel and earth tones

An exceptional range for cooking

We worked with them to create a space that will function well and play with the bones of the rest of the home. Let’s get into the plan:

They wanted to the space to feel welcoming and elevated with all of the comforts of a modern kitchen, while respecting the home’s original charm. These are the finishes we landed on after meeting with the clients in our library. Their design was almost complete!

Once the finishes are all selected, we render the space to pull it all together so the clients get a complete picture of their future space — literally!

We recommended that they take down the wall that you saw in the first before image. In doing so, they get more storage and a large butcher block counter for prep work. They love to cook, so we gave them an open spice rack for ease of use as well as a big beautiful range.

The Power Hour(s) service is designed to give clients everything they need to start a renovation project. We put everything from plumbing to pretty in a specification deck so that you and your contractor have almost all of the decisions pre-made.
